LSI-R Risk Assessment Evaluations Bookmark and Share
The LSI-R measures dynamic criminogenic risk and need factors. It is a tool used by the  New Jersey Department of Corrections to assess the likeliness of re-offending when considering a defendant for parole.   Other jurisdictions recognize the validity of this instrument as well.  The LSI-R is a quantitative survey of attributes of offenders and gives the evaluator information necessary to assess the client’s needs for treatment or intervention for stabilizing them in the community. It measures attitudes towards criminal activity and the emotional/personal strengths and weaknesses associated with recidivism.  Examples of the topics discussed in a LSI-R report are:
  1. Criminal History
  2. Employment History
  3. Financial status
  4. Family relationships and degree of support
  5. Companions
  6. Leisure/recreation
  7. Living accommodations
  8. Addiction issues
  9. Mental Health History
  10. Emotional/Personal stability
  11. Attitudes towards crime
Positive Resources, LLC has earned test certification and access to the instrument for adult evaluations. LSI-R evaluations can be part of a larger report or conducted on a one time basis for use at all proceedings.
